BBC selects SOFTWIN as one of IT suppliers

SOFTWIN, one of Romania’s largest IT software companies, has been selected as one of the 25 IT suppliers for Digital Curriculum Project initiated by BBC. With a budget of 215 Million EURO, the project will be a free, curriculum-based, online service for 5-16 year olds, designed to stimulate learning both at home and through school. Continue reading

For years IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Motorola and Microsoft has handed over manufacturing of many of their products to contract manufacturers like Flextronics International. The following article in the leading newspaper Forbes, outlines how now they are also outsourcing some of their activities in order to keep competitive. I ran into this article today about a Greek company opening an outsourcing center in Romania. I know as a fact that, for years, Greece has been (and still is) an outsourcing destination in IT for European companies.
