University Politehnica Bucharest ranked 10th at ACM finals

The ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) is a global contest involving several tens of thousands of the finest students and faculty in computing disciplines at over 1,582 universities from 71 countries on six continents. The competition site is here.

At this year ACM World Finals held on April 3-7 2005, in Shanghai(China), the team from University Polithenica Bucharest (Romania) has been ranked 10th place. The team from University Politehnica has solved 6 problems out of 8 problems solved by the winning team. The 10th place is not bad at all considering that major US computer science universities have taken the 16th place (University of British Columbia), Massachusetts Institute of Technology the 29th place, etc. For the final results visit this link
