EUR 310 per month the average wage in the Romanian software industry

According to a recent study published by ANIS, the average wage in the Romanian IT&C industry was USD 385 (EUR 310) per month in 2004. The average wage per industry has been calculated according to the data provided by the National Agency for Statistics and includes several sectors of the IT&C industry.

More interesting is the complete snapshot offered by the study for the wages in 2004 within software development sector of the Romanian IT&C industry. The study reveals that for offshore development centers present in Romania the average wage is USD 920/month, for companies providing exclusively outsourcing services the average wage is USD 800/month while for Romanian companies that develop software both for the local market and international market the average wage is USD 700/month.

According to the data present in the study, in 2004 there were around 9000 companies registered in the IT&C industry. The first 100 Romanian software companies (ranked according to the turnover in 2004) hire around 30% of the total employees working in this industry and generate 60% of total turnover.
