According to a study made by International Data Corp. (IDC) at the request of Microsoft, the Romanian software industry will grow by 10% a year. In 2004, the 1450 Romanian companies who are active in this industry have paid 122 million USD in taxes to the Romanian state. The IT spendings totaled 813 million USD and by 2008 they will reach 1,3 billion USD. There are 30.620 employees in the IT industry and it is estimated to reach to 37.850 by 2009. Up to 52% procent from the total number of employees are in the software industry and by 2009 this procent will reach 65%
