For the last couple of days i started to experiment Twitter (yes, i am a late adopter!) after my first attempt a year ago. Despite all the press Twitter got, i don’t think Twitter is the “new internet” nor a “micro”-blogging platform unless “micro” blogging comes from max. size of the posts.
I see it more like the new messenger where “mass msg” is now officially accepted. It has traditional ingredients of the classic messenger such as the list of friends and ability to exchange quick short messages with them. The only problem I see is the slightly asynchronous communication hence once aspect that should be improved in the future. I see it more a threat to the Yahoo! Messenger and the MSN Messenger rather to anything else. I also think there is a short-medium window of opportunity for an application to integrate Twitter in the classic messenger.
